About CTM Staff Bank
We recruit, train, and maintain a flexible bank of skilled professionals who can step in whenever there is a staffing shortfall across a range of Agenda for Change roles. This includes:
- Nursing and Midwifery
- Admin and Clerical
- Allied Health Professions.
By supplying high‑quality, ready‑to‑work staff at short notice, the Staff Bank helps ensure services remain safely and effectively staffed, supporting continuous, high‑quality patient care across the organisation.
Our bank is made up of a mix of people—existing CTM UHB employees who want to take on additional shifts, individuals who work solely through the bank, nursing students gaining valuable experience, and those leaving the organisation who wish to continue working bank shifts.
Why Join our staff bank?
Engaging with the CTM UHB Staff Bank means you can work flexibly by picking up shifts on a casual basis, in line with the All Wales Terms of Engagement.
Staff Bank roles do not include contracted hours, giving you the freedom to choose when and where you work.
Joining our Staff Bank gives you the flexibility to select shifts that fit your lifestyle, while accessing a wide range of specialities and locations to broaden your experience and learning. You’ll benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities, Agenda for Change pay rates, Working Time Directive payments, and access to Stream for greater control over your earnings.
It’s a great way to enhance your skills, gain variety in your work, and maintain a healthy work‑life balance.

" Working on the staff bank as a Healthcare Assistant with Cwm Taf University Health Board has been a very rewarding experience for me as a student nurse. The flexibility of the bank has allowed me to work across different wards, giving me the chance to see a variety of clinical settings and patient needs. This has not only helped me to build my confidence but also given me a deeper understanding of how care is delivered in different environments. "
